Athletics at London 2012

Both the 2012 Summer Olympic Games (Fri 27 July - Sun 12 August) and the
2012 Paralympic Games (Wed 29 Aug - Sun 9 Sept) were held in London,
with the magnificent Olympic Stadium providing the perfect venue for the
athletics programmes.

The stadium was packed to its 80,000 capacity for each of the 15 athletics
sessions at the Olympics - there was an incredible atmosphere throughout and Team GB went away with four gold medals courtesy of Mo Farah (5000m & 10,000m), Greg Rutherford (Long Jump) and Jessica Ennis (Heptathlon).

You can browse our photo section to see the progression of the site and we
have provided a handy Fact File with various statistics about the new stadium.

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
